PFA food safety team attacked, FIRs registered


A group of adulteration mafia has attacked the food safety team of Punjab Food Authority in Chak 71D Pakpattan with weapons when the team raided on the site for catching mafia red-handed here on Wednesday.

A group of muggers also a hostage of PFA team while continuously slapping and beating them. After this incident, Additional Director General (Operations) Rafia Haider and Director Vigilance reached on the spot and led the operation, upon the directions of PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman. Later, Police has intervention and released the hostage team of PFA after four hours. However, the owner of the unit Dr Khalid along with other people managed to flee away from the crime scene after the cowardly act. Dr Khaild not only used to manufacture adulterated milk but also produced fake powdered milk for selling.

He said that assailants opened fire on team members in which result drive severely injured and one other member suffered head injuries. He said that police lodged an FIR against them in Police Station Malka Hanus and handed two people over to police after apprehended during the raid. He said that the team came under attack before taking any action against adulterators. He informed that PFA had unearthed the factory of this same accused but he started the same business after changing a building. He said that as many as 80,000 litres fake milk was being produced on a daily basis in this factory. PFA’s mission would be continued without any dread and we make Punjab’s land narrow for adulteration mafia and to be dealt with an iron hand who breaches the laws, he added.
