4,300 workers complete training course at PFA Training School during last month


As many as 4,300 workers associated with the food industry have completed the training course from Punjab Food Authority’s Training School during the last month. The basic purpose of the training was guided them about how to deal with food, maintain hygiene working environment and food safety standards.
The training course was divided into two levels including level-1 and level-2 training. According to statistics of the monthly progress report of PFA Training School, 4,159 workers were enrolled in Level-1 training and 147 workers in Level-2 training, who have been successfully completed the required training. Out of 4,159 people, 300 workers completed level-1 training from Lahore, 601 from Gujranwala, 665 from Rawalpindi, 702 from Faisalabad, 371 from Bahawalpur, 418 from Sahiwal, 357 from Sargodha, 234 from DG Khan and 511 from Multan office of PFA. In level-2 training, PFA’s instructors trained 77 food handlers in Lahore, 22 in Faisalabad and 48 in Gujranwala.
PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said that practical training to work in kitchens will play a very effective role for low-educated people. He said that most of the people enrolled in level-1 training from the restaurant industry. He said that training schools are functional in 26 districts of Punjab whereas PFA is doing work with a fully dynamic way to expand the circle of PFA Training School in the remaining districts of the province. He further said that the standards and personal hygiene of workers are improving with the help of the training program which is good for industry.
