Another step to eradicate rotten eggs: On directions of PFA, PPA writes letter to hatcheries to not sell rotten eggs, discard as per law


Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) has written a letter to all hatcheries and warned them the sale of un-hatched / infertile eggs to any person or company is strictly prohibited under the Punjab Pure Food Regulations 2018.

Association has directed hatcheries the rotten eggs should be disposed of properly as per laid down standards methods. PPA has informed them PFA is carrying out inspections of all hatcheries to check the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of hatching eggs and disposal of un-hatched/ candled out eggs. PFA has decided to take strict actions against the violators, the latter added.

In the letter further said that all hatchers display complete SOPs as per the policy of PFA in the eggs room with regards to the handling of eggs and disposal of un-hatched/ candled out/ infertile eggs. It is pertinent to note here that PFA has caught nearly 3 million eggs and discarded them in a special drive led by Director General Punjab Food Authority Captain (R) Muhammad Usman.
