Crackdown: PFA unearths five illegal dairy production units in remote areas of Punjab


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) enforcement teams have unearthed five illicit dairy production units and sealed all sites owing to produce fake milk with the contamination of detergents and other harmful material. The raids were conducted in the subpar areas of Sahiwal, Arifwala and Pakpattan on Tuesday.

As many as 6,000 litres fake milk was confiscated by the food dairy teams during taking action against them on the tip-off of PFA’s vigilance cell. This was informed by PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman and said that milk was produced by adding harmful chemicals, powder, urea, and polluted water. He informed that fake milk was supplied to big cities after producing substandard and tainted milk which is injurious to health for consumer especially for children. DG further said that factories were established in the remote areas of Punjab. He said that PFA is doing work day and night for executing of pasteurization law along with holding a crackdown against milk adulteration mafia. We can ensure the provision of healthy and standard quality milk and other food products in Punjab if we root out to adulteration mafia, he mentioned.
