Famous margarine products’ new commercial failed to satisfy PFA Advertisement’s Technical Review Committee

The Punjab Food Authority has rejected the new commercial of Blue Band and directed them to make necessary changes in it. This was informed in a PFA Advertisement’s Technical Review Committee meeting chaired by the PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman, held at PFA Headquarter here on Monday.

The meeting was informed that Blue Band Margarine was presenting its product as a butter in its previous advertisement/ commercial which did not meet the standards of PFA regulations. Even, it was conditional with food for the better growth of children. The committee directed management of blue band to ensure label in visible font size “It is not Butter” along with the box of Blue Band at the end of the commercial.

On the occasion, DG PFA Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said that PFA will ensure the food industry to follow the rules and regulations as per the PFA Act. While, PFA will not tolerate the violations who are presenting a wrong picture in their commercials like a Blue Band. He said that companies are deceiving to consumers for last several decades by using advertisement tactics and taking an advantage of low literacy rate which is not acceptable to authority at any cost. PFA is strictly monitoring the commercials and advertisement of Tea Whitener, Frozen Dessert, Juices, and other essential commodities. PFA’s vigilance and monitoring cell are dynamically active in order to ensure the implementation of Punjab Food Authority Marketing Regulations.
