Nutrition Clinics to be functional by 31st March: DG PFA


The Punjab Food Authority’s Nutrition Clinic Program has been entered in the final phase whereas clinics to be functionalized across Punjab by 31st March.

This was revealed by PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman while addressing with the participants of the one-day training workshop that arranged for newly selected candidates for this program. A workshop was inaugurated by PFA’s DG Muhammad Usman at a local hotel here on Friday.

The training aim was sensitized selected candidates to the methodology of the program according to the modern requirements and geographical problems. Trainers of PFA and heads of concerned departments have trained 50 nutrition experts and 24 public relation officers. PFA officials also briefed students on the structure of organization, regulations and communication strategies.

PNDS Chapter Head Ghazala Pervez, PFA Director Public Relations and Awareness Hafiz Qaiser Abbas, Tasim Zahra, Rebecca Tarrar, Shifa Ali and officials of the organization have participated in the workshop.

Speaking on that occasion, DG Muhammad Usman said that we could safe people from the burden of diseases through providing awareness about the selection of healthy food. He said that PFA is promoting the healthy food business culture in Punjab by utilizing all available resources. He said that all food business operators are on the radar of PFA in Punjab. Punjab Food Authority is not only ensuring the provision of safe and healthy food in Punjab but also improving food safety and nutrition. He further said that the nutrition program is the only way forward to improving nutrition statistics of Punjab and Pakistan. He said that PFA will spread its awareness program in every nook and corner of the province for the acquisition of healthy Punjab. He informed that nutrition clinics will be operationalized in 36 districts of Punjab till the end of March 2019. DG added that PFA is taking concrete steps to a sustainable future as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Ghazala Pervez has appreciated PFA for starting the nutrition clinic program for public awareness along with ensuring the provision of safe and healthy food in the market.
