PFA confiscates 430kg hazardous meat in two raids


On the directions of PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman, meat safety teams have taken action against two meat shops and confiscated 430kg hazardous meat here on Friday.
The authority sent hundreds of kilograms unwholesome meat for discarding. The authority carried out an action against Arshad Khan Beef in Rajgarh and Rashid Beef Shop in Sanda. Muhammad Usman said that meat of sick and emaciated animals was bringing at shops for selling after slaughtering in an illegal slaughterhouse. He said that butchers can sale only approved veterinary stamp slaughtered animal products or meat in the market. PFA is taking strict action against the butchers who involved in bad practice while the use of unhealthy and substandard meat is injurious to health.
On the other hand, the food safety team punished Pak Madina Sweets in Model Town over poor cleanliness arrangements. Sheikh Nimko Unit was served with improvement notice over non-compliance with PFA’s instructions. DG said that citizens should check the quality of food before purchasing as well as purchase good quality and ratified products from reliable stores.
