PFA disposes of 3,000 liters thick liquid of adulterated milk, confiscates vehicle


The Punjab Food Authority’s enforcement teams have foiled an attempt to supply thousands of liters tainted milk which was being carried on a tanker from Sahiwal to Lahore on Tuesday.

The authority confiscated 3,000 litres thick liquid of adulterated milk prepared with hazardous powder, ghee, and chemicals. In this regard, PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said that a fully-loaded tank of milk was covered with wooden and sheets (chadar) to get hoodwinked to PFA by the enemies of the public health. He said that PFA has confiscated a vehicle however, drive fled away from the spot after seeing food dairy safety teams. Meanwhile, authority disposed of thousands of litres prepared fake thick liquid which had to use for preparing 12,000 liters tainted milk. Meanwhile, the liquid was prepared in the subpar area of the Sahiwal to keep safe himself from the eye of food authority but they did not succeed.

Muhammad Usman further said that polluted water was usually added in the liquid to increase the amount of milk. He said that PFA has caught the vehicle after reconnaissance of supply the chain. He also said that Punjab Food Authority will fail their counterfeiting and chicanery of adulteration mafia by unearthing their hidden production units in Punjab. The director general said that PFA rolled up its sleeves against milk adulterators with the objective to bring down the wicked practice of them, upon the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
