PFA foils attempt to supply over hundred thousand rotten eggs, discards in dumping site


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) foiled an attempt by the enemy of people health to supply thousands of rotten eggs in the market of Punjab, on Thursday.

The authority discarded all seized eggs as per the environmental protection principles at Waste Dumping Site (Mehmood Boti) in the presence of Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhry and Director General PFA Captain (R) Muhammad Usman.

Talking to media, DG PFA Muhammad Usman said that thousands of discarded eggs were being carried on a truck to Manzil Alwah Egg Powder Factory (located at Sheikhupura) after purchasing from Sabir Hatchery. He said that PFA has failed to deliver dirty eggs before the start of winter while the action was taken against them on the tipoff information of vigilance cell. He informed that PFA has immediately stopped the production of Sabir Hatchery and a factory whereas asked explanation from them. The egg powder was supplied to famous biscuit makers after getting powder from spoiled eggs. DG revealed that PFA had confiscated one million eggs last year from Alwah Egg Powder Company.
