PFA Helpline to work 24/7, DG asks administration to start round the clock operations as soon possible


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has decided operationalize its helpline service for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to facilitate the citizens regarding their food safety issues. This was informed by PFA Director General while visiting the PFA Helpline Centre (1223), on Monday.

DG Punjab Food Authority was comprehensively briefed about PFA’s helpline service, the progress of staff, the registration process of complaint and its other aspects. On the occasion, he said that caller can get information regarding the acquisition of license, training school program, medical screening and also register their complaint. He said that complainer can also register their complaint through Mobile Application and on PFA’s website and helpline for swift redressal. This system is a consolidated hub of integrated PFA operations wings and other concerned departments. DG told that PFA vigilance cell surprisingly visits respective food site for countercheck before taking action against the concerned food business, upon the information of the caller. He said that consumers are a key source of information who can point out the violation of food safety issues, adulteration mafia, and unhygienic food points.
