PFA issues final warning notices to FBOs for product registration, set deadline of Dec 31


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has issued a final warning notice to all food business operators to register their products till December 31. Otherwise, strict action would be taken against them from provincial food regulatory body as per law. In this connection, PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said that all companies are restricted to register their all products separately.

PFA will not allow to anyone to sell their unregistered products in the markets after the December 31 deadline. He informed that PFA will publish the complete list of registered products on PFA’s website for public interest under the section 2b of PFA Act.

DG said that the purpose of compulsory registration is to ensure food business operators to follow the standards of PFA Act. He further said that product registration is a first and important step in order to ensure the provision of quality food. Only those products will be registered which will meet the standards of the Punjab Pure Food Regulation 2018, he mentioned.
