PFA Nutrition awareness camp organised at social welfare centre for students, orphans and staff


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in collaboration with Social Welfare Department (SWD) organized an awareness camp on “Health for All” here on Tuesday. The objective of organizing the camp was to create awareness among masses about diet to keep them healthy.
PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman and SWD Director Lahore Division visited the camp and also enquired the facilities from visitors that provided to them. Awareness was being spread for children and their parents about the food selection for a perfect life. A 12 member nutrition experts also provided consultancy concerning the selection of nutritious food for perfect health to attendants. Nutrition experts also prescribed diet charts to special persons.
On that occasion, PFA organized various activities for children in order to engage them like drawing and painting competitions. Moreover, PFA held screenings for kids and elders about weight, height and blood pressure. While, DG Food Authority distributed drawing, colour boxes and awareness booklets amongst children and visitors.
Speaking on the occasion, Captain (R) Muhammad Usman briefed attendants about PFA’s initiatives for nutrition awareness for mass. He also told that availability of healthy, safe and adulteration free food across the province is utmost priority and mission of Punjab Food Authority.  Moreover, he has appreciated initiatives about facilitating poor, orphans and helpless taken by the department. He added that Punjab Food Authority would continue its activities against adulteration mafia without any discrimination.
“Under the umbrella of Punjab Food Authority and Social Welfare Department organizing such awareness camps is remarkable step”, said Director SWD Lahore division.
