PFA organizes awareness camp at Pilot Second Girls High School


PFA completes screening for 1300 children in an awareness camp.

The Punjab Food Authority has organized an awareness camp for students in connection to celebrate World Oral Health Day (WOHD) on Thursday. The authority has set up a camp inside the Government Pilot Second Girls High School where 38 members team of PFA screened 1300 students.

The team, comprised of 20 dentists and 18 nutritionists, highlighted the importance of the WOHD and gave awareness about the oral health and hygiene issues. They guided students and participants to keep clean the mouth and teeth for good health. They also shared knowledge with participants to keep teeth whiter and stronger. Moreover, dentists gave lectures on teeth and mouth related diseases.

Meanwhile, nutritionists have aware masses about the dietary guidelines after their complete medical examination and nutrition counselling. The PFA held screenings for students about weight, height and anemia. PFA also distributed informative booklets, colours and drawing books among the students as well as toothpaste and brushes by a local company.

Speaking on the occasion, PFA Director General retired Captain Muhammad Usman said that there is a dire need for a generation to have knowledge about the selection of good food for oral as well as physical health for building a healthy society. He said that spreading awareness about the provision of adulteration free and nutritious food is our mission. DG said that PFA committed to ensuring safe and healthy food awareness programs according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The principal of Pilot School, Asmat Jahan, has appreciated the activities of Punjab Food Authority for organizing such kind of awareness camps for the general public especially students.
