PFA organizes “Nutrition Fair” with Naulakha Presbyterian Church


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in collaboration with Naulakha Presbyterian Church on Sunday arranged a “Nutrition Fair” in connection with Xmas which to be observed on December 25.

PFA Director General Irfan Memon was a chief guest of the event. A large number of Christian’s community, children and people from different walks of life participated in this nutrition fair. Moderator Rev. Dr. Majid Abel attended the celebrations meanwhile cake cutting ceremony was also held in the church.

On the camp PFA arranged dentists along with the awareness regarding balancing the weight, height and body fat. On that occasion, painting, drawing and quiz competitions were arranged to boost up children’s mental capabilities.

A team of 30 nutrition experts had provided the importance of nutritious diet for children as well as elders. More than 200 children were thoroughly examined and given them awareness to choose balance and healthy diet for better health. According to nutrition experts, the usage of fresh fruits and vegetables increase the physical and mental efficiency to children. On the other hand, experts stated that excess use of fast food, less fruits and vegetables may increase the danger of several diseases amongst children.

DG PFA Irfan Memon said that arrangements of awareness camps in worship places, serve humanity without any discrimination. A lot of diseases can be controlled with the help of proper and healthy diet.

Rev. Dr Majid Abel praised the awareness camp arranged by Punjab Food Authority. He stated that the arrangements of these kinds of camps help people to get awareness regarding healthy diet.
