PFA seals counterfeit red chilli producer factory


On the directions of Director General Punjab Food Authority, food safety teams has raided on counterfeit red chilli producer factory and sealed over huge adulteration in Lal haveli Akbari Bazzar on Thursday.

 DG Punjab Food Authority Rafaqat Ali Naswana said factory was preparing red chilli powder by dying the bra with chemicals and industrial colours. Fake chilli powder producing factory was sealed over the failure of quality tests and non-compliance SOPs of the authority.

He further said that poor storage and pitiable arrangements of cleanliness was witnessed by the team while raiding the spot. Hazardous chilli powder was being supplied with attractive packaging to different hotels. The use of adulterated spices causes stomach and intestinal diseases. Punjab Food Authority closely monitor every step of spices preparation to delivery. It is obligatory to abide the rules and regulations of Punjab Food Authority to do food business in the province.
