PFA to constitute special teams for license fee defaulters


Punjab Food Authority, Director General, Captain (R) Muhammad Usman has chaired a meeting of the senior officials of different wings for assessment of progress of PFA at headquarter here on Monday.

In the meeting, he has directed officials to tighten grip on license fee defaulters and bring them in licence circle. He also directed to constitute special teams and prepare an action plan against food business operators who would fail to pay the fee within the due date. He said that PFA would inform license fee defaulters (FBOs) through mobile message and written notice before taking action.

Muhammad Usman has reviewed the progress of resources and licensing, operation and technical wings. He informed that 20,368 workers associated with the food industry have completed the level one training course from Punjab Food Authority’s Training School during the last month. Meanwhile, 1,145 workers enrolled in Level-2 training. He said that PFA has conducted medical screening tests of 6,651 food handlers/workers among 333 people found ill, while 5,8332 people remained successful to clear the test. As many as 256 officers and officials of PFA have completed different training courses. The director general further said that four meetings of scientific penal were held for necessary amendments in the current food law and new regulations. Punjab Food Authority is working day and night for the betterment of the food industry, he added.
