PFA to ensure environment friendly discarding of adulterated material


The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) will install latest incinerators in the five cities of Punjab for discarding substandard and adulterated food items. This decision was taken in a meeting which was chaired by PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman here on Wednesday.

DG Food Authority Muhammad Usman has directed Additional Director General (operations) Rafia Haider to prepare a feasibility report on priority basis. He said that incinerators would install for discarding adulterated and unwholesome food products on the style of PAMCO and health department. In this connection, PFA will take help and suggestions of both departments for installation of incinerators.

Usman disclosed that the incinerators would install in Lahore, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and DG Khan. He further said that a vast expenditure and labour force is used to bring the adulterated products in the big cities. Now, the time and investment will safe after installation of furnaces in different cities of Punjab, he said and added that it is a responsibility of everyone to conserve the environment.
