Plastic Bottle Association meets DG PFA Muhammad Usman


A delegation of Plastic Bottle Association on Thursday called on Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman, at his office.

The delegation has assured DG Food Authority to ensure the implementation of Punjab Pure Food Regulations 2018. The delegation also discussed issues regarding the use of plastic material for the manufacturing of bottles and Punjab Food Authority Packaging Regulation.

Muhammad Usman said that it was decided that plastic bottles manufacturers will mention “it’s not for the use of food” on non-food grade bottles. Whereas association will present bottles with a warning label in front of PFA Committee within two days, he said. DG said that PFA would allow plastic bottle manufacturers to continue work after passing their label from the concerned committee. He further said that PFA will control the use of non-food grade plastic bottles for food with the help of industry and ensure the implementation of the provincial food law. He said that manufacturers can use only food grade plastic for the preparation of plastic bottles. He added that the use of non-food grade bottle is posing a serious threat to the users’ health while causing fatal diseases.
