Punishments to adulteration and counterfeits mafia must be stringent


PFA has discarded unwholesome and adulterated food worth of Rs. 400 Million. It was told in a session which was presided by Provincial Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhary and Chairman Punjab Food Authority Omer Tanveer Butt here on Thursday.

Director General Punjab Food Authority briefed them with details about the PFA actions against adulteration mafia. He said that due to weaker implementations of punishments, adulterators do this crime repeatedly. In session, it was emphasized more to make the punishments stronger and harder for adulterators. DG PFA also added that arrested culprits get bail very easily sue to lose gaps in punishment.

On  that  occasion, Chairman  PFA Omer Tanveer Butt said that  globally  adulterator  are  imposed  very  strict punishments. Less and soft punishments let the adulterators to do it again. On the other hand, Minister for Food Samiullah Chaudhary stated that elimination of adulteration mafia is first priority of PM Imran Khan. Very soon bill for strict punishments will be presented in assembly.
