Punjab Food Authority board meeting held


Chairman Punjab Food Authority Umer Tanveer Butt has chaired its first board meeting after taking charge here on Friday. PFA Director General retired Captain Muhammad Usman has presented the agenda of the meeting and given a detailed briefing to the board about the progress of PFA.

In the meeting, they discussed new laws, important projects and policymaking. The board has given permission to bring the first edition of the PFA after every three months. Meanwhile, board members have emphasized to meet the standards of International Publications. PFA’s Magazine would be available for the public at Rs100 and Rs350 for board members while its first copy to be presented to Prime Minister and CM Punjab at the same price which set for board members.

The board members have appreciated PFA for imposing a ban on Daal Matri, adulterated loose spices, so-called energy drinks and Styrofoam. They urged that adulterators and counterfeiters are deserved for strict punishment. They said that there is a dire need to work on public awareness projects along with taking action against adulteration mafia. In the meeting, the board has given permission to constitute Punjab Food Authority Enteral Procurement Committee and Discard & Action Committee. They also give the go-ahead to establish Day Care Centered at the district level to facilitate employees of the PFA.
