Provincial Minister Food Samiullah Chaudhry on Friday paid a surprise visit to PFA and expressed satisfaction over the performance, arrangements and facilities being provided to the food industry at PFA Lab. PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman was also present on the occasion.
Minister said that the role of PFA Food Lab is significant in order to ensure the provision of healthy and safe food in the market for the public. He said that PFA Lab is fully equipped with modern testing equipment and keep the capacity to test all food commodities like water, milk, ghee, spices, drinks, ketchup, and juices. He said that PFA Lab is better than any other local laboratory. Samiullah Chaudhry has appreciated PFA to prepare a comprehensive mechanism of sampling for the sake of maintaining privacy. He said that all food technicians are well trained as per the international standards. Each department of PFA has become a role model for others.
The director general said that PFA checks food samples in the lab as per its annual sampling schedule for 2019. He said, “Lab is playing a vital role to identify the adulterated food with solid evidence and behind of its counterfeiters.”
